Greenville Multicultural is a ministry of the Wesleyan Church. The Wesleyan Church was traces it’s roots back to the Methodist movement. In the late 1800s, there was a group of Methodists who wanted their denomination to take a stand to end slavery, give women more rights, and keep children from going to work at a young age. When the Methodist Church wouldn’t take an official stand on these three social justice issues, the Wesleyan Church was born (It was called the Wesleyan Methodist Connection at the time.)
